Any camper that manages to break free of the cookie cutter mold so prevalent in the industry is impressive on its own. Our 2021 Cruiser Hitch 16RD doesn’t just break the mold, it blows it out of the water. At first glance the camper sports a sharp and bold futuristic bodystyle, utilizing less curves and more straight lines than your typical travel trailer design. A beautiful all white paint job dominates the exterior, and as for the decals; not a single horizontal pinstripe in sight.
Looks aside, this camper was designed expressly with the owner in mind. Something other manufacturers could take note of. For starters you’ve got over half a foot of ground clearance thanks to the 15” all terrain tires. Which may not sound like much, but too many travel trailers’ lowest hanging point is mere 3-4 inches from the ground. The Hitch can take a nasty trail or two and keep on trucking. All thanks to the torsion suspension that not only lasts longer than leaf springs and provides a smoother towing experience. Loading and unloading are a breeze thanks to the factory standard motorized tongue jack, and on top of that there’s 4 stabilizer jacks whereas normally we only find 2 on campers of this size.
None of that even begins to scrape the surface. The Hitch comes standard with a Xantrex power inverter and a Xantrex charge controller for your roof mounted solar panel. Couple both of those with a 47 gallon fresh water tank and going off grid for an extended period doesn’t seem impossible anymore. The list goes on, dual propane tanks, 2 pet friendly leash D rings, full size spare. The raw value of what you’re getting is insane, those two Xantrex products alone are $750 brand new and the labor to install them on a camper could push that price tag to well over $1,000. That’s just one small part.
Step inside and you’re met with a queen size bed on the right, a dinette that collapses to a full size bed on your left, and right in front of you a full size bathroom complete with a vanity and a sink with cabinet storage to boot. And forget about the queen bed. Many other short travel trailers are like this. Not the Hitch, they made it work. I haven’t even touched on the included TV/Entertainment center or the full kitchen with a stovetop, sink, and refrigerator. All of this without wasting a single inch of space as the entire camper is rife with cabinet space.
Our 2021 Cruiser Hitch 16RD is the pound for pound undefeated people's champion of RVs. All the ease of use without sacrificing any of the capabilities that a camper should have. You don’t have to be chained to shore power or city water with the Hitch. To paraphrase Lee Iacocca, if you can find a better camper, buy it. You’d be hard pressed to find another camper that offers this much, all inside of 21 feet and under 4,000lbs.
